Viritopia – a leading provider, designer and installer of living walls – has enjoyed success in multiple international markets and is now expanding its network further. The team is now working alongside partners such as Oasis Greenery Systems in New Zealand, to meet the increasing demand for living walls for both residential and commercial buildings.

Australasia in particular has seen an increase in demand for living walls. In response to this Viritopia has partnered with Oasis Greenery Systems on projects such as the Air New Zealand’s living wall in its Koru Lounge in Auckland and New World Supermarket’s living wall at its Redcliffs store. For both of these projects, Viritopia and Oasis Greenery Systems worked closely with architects and designers to offer a great service. For both projects, Oasis has continued to maintain the living walls, which is another service offered with any Viritopia living wall project.

Commenting on Viritopia’s international presence, Steve McIntyre, Business Development Manager said, “With sustainable economic development high on the agenda for government plans all over the world, we are seeing more organisations prioritising urban landscaping developments for both commercial and residential buildings."

Darren Rice, Manager at Oasis Greenery Systems, commented on the benefits of partnering with Viritopia, saying, “We have a strong relationship with Viritopia and it offers fantastic service and support. Becoming a supplier has given us the chance to work on some great, high-profile projects.”

The trend for living walls is moving across the globe and Viritopia has also worked on projects from Norway to Russia, as well as for a number of cruise ships. Other notable international projects include the Aquatics Stadium for the London 2012 Summer Olympics, Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen and the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Bahrain, for example.

You won’t find a better cultural mix than in the USA – from music to film, hospitality to landmarks there are undoubtedly a lot of unrivalled cultural achievements in the USA. This means that nationals and visitors alike have high expectations – and we certainly wanted to live up to these.

We were commissioned to install urban landscaping on two cruise ships. The difference in climates the ships experience meant we had to carefully plan the types of plants we used. A mix of local and sub-tropical plants gave a great effect – and we even got to use some artistic license. Ever seen a world map etched into a living plant wall on a cruise ship? You can see it all in the case study below.

We are actively looking for distributors based in the USA to extend our global network further.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch!
